Listening gaze (2008) DV PAL 16:9 vertical monitor Dimensions: 285 x 160 x 56 cm _______________ The installation explores Michel Foucault’s notion of medical gaze. The work addresses the shift between a neutral listening gaze and a pointing interfering one in the absence of a verbal narrative. On both sides of the table participants find themselves alternating between a role of a doctor and a patient. With the aid of a stethoscope they engage intimately with the doctor-patient onscreen. |
