The series includes artifacts, short films, performative prototype demonstrations, and tutorials that highlight speculative ways to research future wearable technologies and artificial empathy. It involves performative, material, and sensory testing of “recipes” and “ingredients”, that have been created in collaboration with Kaisu’s PhD student Roland van Dierendonck. The project also involves collaboration with Sheffield BioMedical Robotics Lab. The team has adapted existing DIY soft robotics recipes and works with kitchen-grade materials such as (recycled) rubber, plastic, and silicone, and various pneumatic techniques via manual and automated pumps and valves.
